New Sunday School Classes (Fall 2011)
Our next set of adult Sunday School classes begins on August 28. The classes are:
- Welcome to Calvary Bible Church taught by Blake Hasselbring. This class is for people who are new to our church. It covers our philosophy of ministry, our church government, and our doctrine. This class is the first step in our membership process, though attending this class does not obligate you to become a member. If you need to be baptized and want to know more about what Calvary believes, teaches, and how Calvary works, this class is for you.
- The Book of Daniel taught by Jim Warring. This class will teach you the message of the Old Testament book of Daniel.
- Becoming a Godly Husband taught by Rod Perkins. This class is for men only and will help you understand in practical ways what it means to “love your wife as Christ loved the church” (Eph 5:25
). This class is based on the book The Exemplary Husband by Stuart Scott.
- Philippians: Inductive Bible Study Discussion led by Tim Inman. This class is only for AWANA workers and others who cannot be part of our Wednesday night Bible study groups. Tim will lead you through discussion of your personal Bible study through this book of the Bible.
- Telling Yourself the Truth taught by Diane Prieur. This class is for women only. This class is designed to help women think biblically and their lives and avoid the big lies that the world, the flesh, and the devil would deceive you into believing.

August 2011 Fellowship Feast
This month’s Fellowship Feast will be our annual church picnic. The picnic will be held right here at the church on Sunday, August 28, starting at 2 p.m.
Come ready to share in some great food, games, and fellowship outdoors under a tent! Sign up on one of the clipboards to let us know that you’ll be coming and what food items you will be bringing. Please be sure to bring all necessary serving utensils. Also, feel free to bring your favorite yard games (Croquet, Bocce Ball, Frisbee, etc).

India Missions Night
Join us on Saturday evening, September 17 at 6 p.m. for a special missions banquet. Saji Lukos, founder and president of RIMI (Reaching Indians Ministry International) will be here to tell us about the spread of the gospel in India. In addition to Saji’s presentation, there will be a meal of Indian food as well as live worship music.

Women’s Ministry Summer Connect

July Fellowship Feast
This month’s Fellowship Feast is scheduled for July 31st at 5 p.m. We have a special missionary guest, Jeff Thomas, who is a former member of our church family and is now serving the Lord in Portugal. Jeff will be preaching in both of our morning services on July 31st and his wife Jenny will be singing in the blended (9 a.m.) worship service.
Then the Thomas family will join us again for the Fellowship Feast at 5 p.m. to observe the Lord’s Supper, join us in prayer, and Jeff will tell us about his work for the Lord in Portugal. Questions? Contact Rod Perkins or Blake Hasselbring.

June Fellowship Feast
This month’s Fellowship Feast is scheduled for June 26 at 5 p.m. for the Lord’s Supper, prayer, and and a missionary presentation. Come together with your church family to remember the death of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and be encouraged by hearing more about the spread of the Gospel. Questions? New Evangelism Opportunity
New Creations Ministries based in Grand Rapids has begun meeting with women at the Huron Valley Women’s Correctional Facility to present the Gospel to women who have requested it. The meetings take place morning and afternoon on Wednesdays. They have already seen several women trust Christ in the first few weeks of this program! They are eager to train volunteers from our church to share in this ministry. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Suzanne Jones ASAP for more information. This opportunity is open to both men and women.
Help Us Have a Great Vacation Bible School this Summer
Want to be a part of the VBS PIT CREW this summer? Come on by the VBS Pit Stop in the foyer and sign up to join the crew. We need crews for teachers, helpers, crafts, food prep, games and many others. So, come on and be a part of the Pit Crew and let’s REV IT UP for JESUS this summer! Chair Set Up Ministry Opportunity
The chair set up team needs a few more men. This ministry will only require about 10 hours a year of your time!
If you are physically able to set up chairs and can spend about 75 minutes of your Saturday morning (usually 9:00 am – 10:15 am) you have what it takes to join the team. There are groups of guys that share this responsibility, so you would only need to perform this duty about eight times a year, and would be working in groups of three each time. No experience is necessary. Please contact Blake Hasselbring for more information.
Usher Ministry Opportunity
There is a need for more ushers at Calvary, especially during the 9:00 am service. No special talents are required yet the blessing of serving the body of Christ is great. Please see Blake Hasselbring for more information.
