- Go back and look at the Big Idea you wrote way back on Thursday, December 18. Now that you have read and thought about the passage for many days, is the Big Idea you wrote on the target? Is it a bull’s eye? If not, how would you revise it to make it more precise?
- What words or phrases in this passage would you like to understand better? If you have time and a good commentary available, consider looking up those words and phrases and jotting down a summary of what you learn. Page 22 of this guide offers some space to jot down questions you’d like to discuss on Wednesday night.
- This passage teaches strongly the need to continue following Christ “to the very end” (v. 11). Have you ever been tempted to abandon following Christ? What caused you to be tempted to do that—a hard truth in the Bible, being attacked for your faith, a sinful temptation of some kind, or something else?
