If you’re following the schedule, you should read these chapters today: Genesis 43, Mark 13, Job 9, Romans 13. Click on any of those references to see all the passages in one long page on BibleGateway. If you can't do all the readings today, read Mark 13.
Interpreting Jesus’ prophecy in this section is too complex for a brief devotional like this one. The key point for our obedience is at the end of verse 37: “Watch!”
However, look at verse 32: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Given that Christ is God and is, therefore, all-knowing, how can he say, “no one knows, not even… the son?” Post your answers or thoughts about this or any other part of our reading today in the comments below or on our Facebook page. And, feel free to answer and interact with the questions and comments of others. Have a great day; we'll talk scripture again tomorrow.
