Easter 2018: TWO Services

Celebrate Easter at Calvary Bible Church

Sunday, April 1 at 8:30 & 10 a.m.

You are invited to celebrate Easter with us in one of our two identical worship services at either 8:30 & 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 1. It is going to be a great Sunday featuring:

  • Biblical teaching from our Senior Pastor Brian Jones
  • No dress code: Wear your new Easter outfit... or not. Your call.
  • High energy music from our live worship team led by Nick Slayton our worship leader.
  • Free coffee and donuts. It's good coffee, too. There's fruit as well if you don't want a donut.
  • A welcoming, friendly atmosphere for you, your friends, and family.
  • A fun experience for your kids.

Speaking of the kids:

For your littlest ones, we have a great nursery filled with fun toys and staffed by loving volunteers who have been background checked and trained. This is for kids from birth to age 3. The nursery is open before the service begins, so you can check in your infant or toddler as soon as you arrive.

We are offering nursery care and children's church in the 10 a.m. service only. We want the time spent in children's church to be the best hour of your child's week. We offer games, Bible lessons, and activities that help kids understand the Bible on their own level. The kids all start out together for music, then are led to one of three different children's church areas based on age:

  • 3-4 year olds
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade
  • 2nd - 5th grades

Location:

We're located on Carpenter Rd. just south of Bemis. Click on the map below to get turn-by-turn directions:

There will also be opportunities to help with preparations (decorating / setup and cleanup / candy and prize donations). And, there are several ways for you to advertise to the community. If you’d like to get involved with one of these opportunities, sign up on the sheets just outside the Chapel. See Marsha Jones for more information. New Calvary Classes Start May 15

New Calvary Classes Start May 15

A new set of Calvary Classes will begin on Sunday, May 15. These classes will be offered:

  • James. This class, taught by Jeff Hatto, will meet in room 235/237 and will study the New Testament book of James. This book was written by James, the half-brother of our Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to the Bible, we will be using a study guide authored by John MacArthur. The study guide is available on his website for the cost of $10. It is worth every penny. Just go to www.gty.org to order your copy for the Calvary Class. There will be a few additional copies in the class room for our guests and we are also allowed to copy certain portions of the materials, so those copies will also be available. Shad Bean will be assisting Jeff with the class and we both hope everyone available comes and enjoys the Bible study.
  • Christianity: What’s It All About? This class, taught by Blake Hasselbring, will meet in room 233 and will help you explore what the Bible says about our relationship with God and how we can know Him personally. It is open to new believers and anyone else who would like to know more about Christianity.
  • When God Doesn’t Fix It. This class is for women only. It will be led by Jenny Hasselbring and Paula Smith and will meet in room 137. Together you will read and discuss Christian recording artist Laura Story’s book When God Doesn’t Fix It: Lessons You Never Wanted to Learn, Truths You Can’t Live Without. Laura shares openly about the raw emotions and crisis of faith she experienced when her life was changed forever by a diagnosis and when God didn’t answer her prayers the way she wanted. Through her story, we will learn how we can find joy and healing in Christ even when our difficult circumstances don’t change. This will be a very practical, application-oriented study, requiring you to read a portion of the book each week on your own in preparation for our discussions on Sunday morning. You can purchase the book through Amazon here: http://amzn.to/1MIrDJB.
